Ahh, a camgirl tradition! Back in the day (*gets out cane*), most camgirls didn't actually charge anything for access to their site, or sell specific products or services -- they simply went about their camming ways and waited for "tips" and "gifts" to come in. This worked quite well for a lot of girls, particularly when webcams were a real novelty. It's not so common anymore, since most cam viewers have been there, seen that, and don't give money or gifts for "nothing".
Of course, just because they're not a main income stream doesn't mean that they can't be used! Amazon used to be one of the only good sites providing a wishlist service, but there are many more now. Wishlists are also neat because what a person puts on a wishlist says a lot about that person. Is it full of trashy romance novels, or horror movies, or shoes, or cookware, or artwork? Think of a wishlist as an additional type of content on your site, not just a gift-grab. Things you'll want to be aware of about wishlist services: - Does it keep your name private or will others see it?
- Does it keep your address (or at least street address) private?
- Can the customer cancel the order?
If you’re using Amazon, make sure to turn off “3rd Party Item Shipping” if you want to keep your address completely private. If you allow it, people who buy you gifts that aren’t directly sold by Amazon may be able to see your shipping address. To change this, click on Edit This Information above your items, near “Unique Facts.” Check the upcoming reviews section for information on specific wishlist services. |
