Whoo boy, this is like asking “how much does a car cost?” It depends. On what? Time, personality, interest, personal limits, and yes, physical attributes. Here is a basic introduction to making money camming.
You can earn just about as much as you want to earn, depending on the above factors. $100 a month, $1000 a month, $1000 a week… all possible for most girls. Now, before you start worrying if you’re “pretty enough” or young enough to earn what you want, let me introduce you to a little concept called niches. A niche is a specialized market that targets a certain interest or group of consumers. The most successful niches in the cam/adult industry include BBW (big, beautiful women), BDSM (bondage/dominance, dominance/submission, sado-masochism), mature women, various fetishes (feet, smoking, heck I know a girl who’s making money on sneeze fetishes)… the list goes on and on. Got a punk attitude and lots of tattoos? Looootsa guys are into that. Small breasts? Ditto. So don’t be discouraged if you think you don’t fit the 18 year old, big-breasted, long-legged model category. In fact, this is probably the biggest draw to cam sites for most guys – girls who are real, not airbrushed, and unique. There’s a lot more to say on niches, but let’s get back to the bottom line question here. How much time are you willing to spend camming, working on your site, and promoting yourself – a few hours a week or a few hours a day? Are you interesting, intelligent, and able to form a real connection between yourself and viewers? What are your own personal limits with regards to nudity and sex? Are you willing to do what it takes to earn more money, or is it more of a hobby where you’ll just stick to what you find most fun/interesting? Without the answers to these and many other questions, it is very difficult to gauge how much money you can or will earn. Opening a membership site without an existing audience or advertising won’t get you anywhere. That caveat aside, here is a very rough earnings guideline* over time for what I would call moderate levels of talent and promotion – with just the right combination and timing, you could do significantly better. These numbers are your net profit per month, not your gross sales. Private shows – occasional: $300-500, part-time: $500-2000, full-time: $2000-$10,000 Phone sessions – similar to the above, but likely less overall Selling stuff (personal items, pics/videos, etc.) – minimal promotion: $50-200, moderate: $200-1000, extensive: $1000+ Membership site – minimal promotion/content: $100-300, moderate: $300-2000, extensive: $2000-10,000+ Tips/gifts – $0-200, $200+ if offering “rewards” for tips/gifts Private shows are likely to bring in the most money quickly, but they also require the most active participation from you. If you don’t do shows for a week, you won’t earn any money that week. However, if you’re running a membership site or selling products, you will earn a steadier income even when not actively creating content, but it usually takes longer to build up a steady membership. Of course the way to maximize this, if that’s your goal, is to do more than one of these at the same time :) * These numbers are pretty much pulled out of my ass. My educated, experienced, and researching ass, but still – they are not hard facts pulled from any kind of serious research, just personal experience over the years. |
